An exiting program in four interesting sessions where a series of speakers will present their knowledge and experience in four sessions:

Session 1— drilling and well operations for geothermal use. We will present the recent technological advances tailored to meet the challenges for geothermal energy extraction. Drilling is the key cost element hindering large scale deployment. The challenge is different between the deep/warm geothermal sources and those met when targeting shallow sources.

Session 2—Pricing mechanisms and regulatory framework. Our presenters provide oversight on how these mature and ready-for-market geothermal solutions are deployed in the Nordic countries. Why is the deployment rate so different? What kind of political framework and pricing mechanism can be employed to nurture growth also in slow-moving markets?

Session 3– Surface use and energy system integration. The energy system approach is needed to match surface energy need with the local geological possibilities and technological solutions that facilitate heat exchange with the underground. Learning points from system integration and how these solutions can provide energy services at low costs are presented.

Session 4—on subsurface exploitation, stimulation and optimal operation will be presented by a series of skilled presenters. The frontiers of where geothermal energy can be integrated in the energy system is growing as the electricity price exceeds and technology matures.
